The Perfect Wife
By J.P. Delaney
Rating: 4/5 Stairs
This was such a mind-bending story. Imagine waking up from a coma, but not remembering anything that happened to you. As you are getting your bearings you find out that not only have you been in this coma for five years – you’re not really you. You’re a robot. A robot that has been filled with human memories. Well…your memories.
Honestly I don’t want to say much more about the book because I don’t want to spoil anyone. And what I said above? That brief intro? That’s just chapter one.
Seriously this brief intro is only like the first chapter of this book. By the end of the first few chapters I had so many questions. What happened to Abbie? Is her marriage as great as her memories seem? Is this robot really Abbie? Is this a new Abbie? Do robots even have feelings? This book just gets into so many issues that the world will be facing as technology continues to grow and evolve. It was a fascinating page turner with a lot of twists and turns for sure. And also one of those books that leaves you thinking long after the pages have run out.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Ballantine Books for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
