It’s already Monday again! And very, very late in the day at that. I hope everyone has had a great day.
I was very saddened to hear about the death of Ric Ocasek yesterday, lead singer of The Cars. I read this afternoon of his last doodle and found it pretty moving.
We listened to The Cars a lot when I was growing up, my dad loved them. If you haven’t listened to much by The Cars, do yourself a favor and check out their Greatest Hits album. Here are a few of my favorites.
My Best Friend’s Girl (1978)
This early song is probably my favorite.
She’s my best friend’s girl
She’s my best friend’s girl
But she used to be mine
Touch and Go (1980)
I love the change the music makes when the melody takes over.
You Might Think (1984)
For all you kids out there, here’s a classic ’80s video from the old days of the original MTV.

Rolling Stone has a great article with TONS of fantastic Cars classics. (Ok, it’s fifteen. Fifteen songs. Not TONS. That might be a slight exaggeration on my part. But they’re all great.) It was so hard for me to just pick three of my favorites.
Happy Monday All!
Rules from Lauren:
Every Monday share one or two of songs you’ve been enjoying lately. It doesn’t have to be a specific genre, new, or one of your favorites – just something you’d like to share with others. If possible, share a music or lyric video of the song and your thoughts on the song(s), artist(s), and/or music video(s).
If you would like to participate in Music Monday, please join the link up by sharing your post’s url over at this week’s post on Always Me.
Classics! Thanks for sharing and linking up with me. 🙂
