Music Monday. The White Album Edition.

Welcome to another Monday! I love music as much as books, so Monday is a chance to share a little of what I’ve been listening to this week.

This year for Christmas Santa brought me The Beatles (The White Album) 50th Anniversary. I haven’t listened to this album in a while (Abbey Road is always my go-to Beatles choice), and I had forgotten how many great tunes were on here. Just one fantastic song after another.

Here are my five favorites, although it’s hard to pick. Truthfully, I started this post with my top four, but I just couldn’t leave Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da out.

While My Guitar Gently Weeps

Many would argue this is George Harrison’s best song.

I look at the world and I notice it’s turning
While my guitar gently weeps
With every mistake we must surely be learning
Still my guitar gently weeps

I Will

Who knows how long I’ve loved you?
You know I love you still
Will I wait a lonely lifetime?
If you want me to, I will

Julia

Julia, Julia, morning moon, touch me
So I sing a song of love, Julia

When I cannot sing my heart
I can only speak my mind, Julia

I’m So Tired

I’m so tired I don’t know what to do
I’m so tired my mind is set on you
I wonder should I call you but I know what you would do

Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da

Happy ever after in the market place
Molly lets the children lend a hand
Desmond stays at home and does his pretty face
And in the evening she’s a singer with the band.

Ob-la-di Ob-la-da life goes on bra
La la how the life goes on

Happy Monday!

Rules from Lauren:
Every Monday share one or two of songs you’ve been enjoying lately.  It doesn’t have to be a specific genre, new, or one of your favorites – just something you’d like to share with others.  If possible, share a music or lyric video of the song and your thoughts on the song(s), artist(s), and/or music video(s).

If you would like to participate in Music Monday, please join the link up by sharing your post’s url over at this week’s post on Always Me.

Sit down and share a cuppa with me. Let's discuss.
