The Wishing Spell. A Mini Review.

The Wishing Spell

By Chris Colfer

Rating: 3/5 Stairs

The Wishing SpellI really wanted to love this book. I enjoy fairy tale retellings and re-imaginings. Twins Alex and Conner get sucked into their fairy tale book, transported into the world of fairy tales. The twins must gather together items from classic fairy tales to create the wishing spell, which will grant them their wish to go home.

I’m not sure what it was, but the book was just okay for me. I was interested enough to get to the end, but not interested enough to continue reading the series (this is the first of five books). My youngest son felt the same way. However, my oldest loved it and tore through the rest of the series on his own, and is eagerly awaiting the fifth and final installment.

Sit down and share a cuppa with me. Let's discuss.
