Music Monday. The Head and the Heart – Living Mirage.

It has been way too long since I’ve said this…Welcome to another Music Monday!

Honestly, I’ve been on a podcast and audio book kick and haven’t had as much music playing lately. Which is a bummer, as I love music.

The last few weeks I’ve been listening to The Head and the Heart‘s new album, Living Mirage. The Head and the Heart is one of my FAVORITE bands, and I *love* this album. It is soooooo good. Here’s a few highlights. (The videos from the album are not exciting, but the music is lovely.)

See You Through My Eyes

Until you learn to love yourself
The door is locked to someone else
I’m just as damaged as you are
Scattered to pieces with you gone
Without the dark, there is no light
But don’t give the dust an instant night
I saw the signs you were leaving
But I didn’t wanna believe it

This could be so easy
If you could see you through my eyes
I tell myself not to let it go
Hold on to something so beautiful
This could be so easy
If you could see you through my eyes
I tell myself not to let it go
Hold on to something so beautiful

Honeybee

This is my favorite song from the album, hands down. On YouTube, the band says:

Honeybee really captures the idea of realizing you may have been living a life complacent with the familiar – maybe even taking the person closest to you for granted and regretting not expressing your love towards them until it’s too late. It’s a concept that connects with all of us and this song, sonically, for the band is intriguingly minimalist. It feels fresh. – Charity

Saving Grace

Bonus: Library Magic, LIVE From Red Rocks July 2019

(This video should start playing at 1:37:10 in. Feel free to watch the whole concert if you want!)

We had the pleasure of seeing The Head and the Heart at Red Rocks last summer and it was such a great show. We couldn’t make it this year when the band played about two weeks ago, but they broadcast BOTH NIGHTS live, which was so awesome. Each night was a little different. The first night they did a fantastic acoustic version of Library Magic – my favorite song they play. SO GORGEOUS.

Happy Monday All!

Rules from Lauren:
Every Monday share one or two of songs you’ve been enjoying lately.  It doesn’t have to be a specific genre, new, or one of your favorites – just something you’d like to share with others.  If possible, share a music or lyric video of the song and your thoughts on the song(s), artist(s), and/or music video(s).

If you would like to participate in Music Monday, please join the link up by sharing your post’s url over at this week’s post on Always Me.
