Music Monday: Queen.

Happy Monday, readers!

Last week I was in a bit of a music funk, and frankly I still am. But it’s better. I’m easing my way out of it. I think.

So when you’re in a music funk, what’s playing? Usually for me, it’s The Beatles. (Whom we might be visiting here next Monday.) But my youngest has been on a Queen kick. For MONTHS. He has latched onto Queen and is not letting go. For Christmas, he got Queen Greatest Hits Volumes 1, 2, AND 3. And a Queen T-shirt. And a Queen piano songbook. (In fact, as I type this we are being serenaded with Another One Bites the Dust.)

He’d been dying to see the Bohemian Rhapsody film, and we finally went on Saturday. (It was a really great film. Rami Malek did a great job playing Freddie Mercury.) So what’s playing at our house you ask? A lot of Queen.

My son’s favorites are what I’d call the stadium favorites – We Will Rock YouWe are the ChapionsAnother One Bites the Dust are probably his top three. (You’re My Best Friend is up there too.) Here are my three favorites:

3. Crazy Little Thing Called Love

2. Somebody to Love

1. Bohemian Rhapsody

No question on which one is #1 for me. I just love Bohemian Rhapsody.

It was hard to get this down to just three songs. Honorable mentions include I Want to Break Free, The Millionaire Waltz, Fat Bottomed Girls, and Love of My Life.

What are you listening to this week?

Happy Monday!

Rules from Lauren:
Every Monday share one or two of songs you’ve been enjoying lately.  It doesn’t have to be a specific genre, new, or one of your favorites – just something you’d like to share with others.  If possible, share a music or lyric video of the song and your thoughts on the song(s), artist(s), and/or music video(s).

If you would like to participate in Music Monday, please join the link up by sharing your post’s url over at this week’s post on Always Me.

  1. I just shared my top three with my son. He did not understand my picks for #3 and #2. “Those are your favorite Queen songs?!” he asked, clearly disappointed in my choices. 😉

  2. We have exactly the same top three, though in a different order. Love Queen music and my kid does too. In fact, when she went away to college I not only missed her, but I found she’d taken all the volumes of my Queen Greatest Hits so I missed those as well. But that was easily fixed. Now she and I each have a copy of all Queen’s music. 🙂

Sit down and share a cuppa with me. Let's discuss.
