Welcome to my first Music Monday of 2019! The day is almost over, but the night is young my friends.
I have a confession to make to you all: I’m in a music slump at the moment.
I spent December (submerged) listening to Christmas/holiday tunes pretty much 24/7. (Yes, I am THAT person.) I was forced to go cold turkey on December 26th (I usually have more of a cool down period, but that didn’t work out this year), and ever since I have been in a music slump.
A music slump is really unusual for me. I’m hoping to find my way out soon.
In the meantime, we FINALLY saw Mary Poppins Returns last weekend. I loved it. I thought I would feature two of my favorite songs from the film this week.
A Cover is Not the Book
With the movie still in theaters, full video clips are unavailable, but this is a fun one toes to get an idea of the costumes and staging. You can find the audio here.
This song seems appropriate for a book blog. 😉
The Place Where Lost Things Go
The more I hear this one, the more I love it.
BONUS: 22 Musicals in 12 Minutes
So much fun to see Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda join James Corden for 22 Musicals in 12 Minutes.
Happy Monday!
Rules from Lauren:
Every Monday share one or two of songs you’ve been enjoying lately. It doesn’t have to be a specific genre, new, or one of your favorites – just something you’d like to share with others. If possible, share a music or lyric video of the song and your thoughts on the song(s), artist(s), and/or music video(s).
If you would like to participate in Music Monday, please join the link up by sharing your post’s url over at this week’s post on Always Me.
Cool! Thanks for sharing – I’d love to see this. 🙂
