TTT: Headed to the Beach! (Not really, but one can dream.)

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday (TTT) brought to you by The Broke and the Bookish.

May 23: Summer Reads Freebie: In preparation for Memorial Day (which is always the unofficial summer kickoff for me), let’s rec some summer/beach reads: books to go in your beach bag, best books set in summer, books with summer-y covers, best beach reads for people who don’t enjoy contemporary/realistic reads, best beach reads for fans of X genre, etc. etc.

A day late, and a dollar short this week. Sorry about that. This is the last day of school for the year for my boys, and the past week has been insanely busy with all the end of year wrap up activities, concerts, sports, etc. So I’m keeping this week’s TTT short and sweet.

I decided to do a little twist on this week’s topic. Instead of recommending a good beach read…

If I were going to the beach today, what books would I toss in my beach bag?

Note that these are all books I have sitting on my shelves (or in my eReader), patiently waiting for me to open them up and discover their wonderful stories. In other words, I have no idea if these are good beach reads or not, as I haven’t read them yet.

And I should probably forewarn you that a “beach read” for me just means a fun book that I am looking forward to. Cozy mysteries always make their way into my beach bag.

  1. I recently read The Circle, it was pretty good. I have The Love that Split the World, but I haven’t made time for it yet. All the books you chose look good. I just got the audible version of It by Stephen King, so I would probably be listening to that. Thanks for sharing!
