What Are You Reading Wednesdays is a weekly meme hosted by Its A Reading Thing. To participate, open the book you are currently reading to page 34 (or 34% in your ebook) and answer these three questions. If you have a blog, leave a link down in the comments so that others can visit and see your post. If not, just leave a note with your answers.
The Questions:
1. What’s the name of your current read?
Second Street Station (A Mary Handley Mystery) by Lawrence H. Levy. I received a free copy through Blogging for Books.
2. Go to page 34 in your book (or 34% in your eBook) and share a complete sentence. (or two!)
“Officer Handley, do my ears deceive me,” Chief Campbell said, “or did you just tell this charming young lady to shoo?
3. Would you like to live in the world that exists within your book? Why or why not?
New York City. 1888. Big city at the turn of the century? Not really my cuppa.
Funny – my book this week is set in NY City in 1886. 🙂

I love reading about that time period but I don’t think I’d actually want to live in it!

I agree!! Just the women’s restrictive clothing alone…not to mention lack of modern conveniences. 🙂

I have this book but haven’t started it yet. It looks fun and I usually enjoy historical mysteries. I’m not sure I’d want to live in 1880s NYC either!

I love reading historical fiction but I don’t think I would want to live in it either. I like my modern day conveniences like the internet, Starbucks, and a/c.
Thanks for participating 🙂
