Many moons ago my grandmother presented me with a stack of old Nancy Drew mysteries that had been sitting on a bookshelf in her house. I selected The Hidden Staircase to read first, and my love of a good mystery was born. Over the years I have gravitated towards reading mystery series. When I find a great cast of characters, I enjoy their continuing character and relationship development as the series progresses. An always expanding list, here are some of my favorite series recommendations.
While the bulk of my reading falls into the mystery genre – including cozy, thriller, and classic who-done-it? – now and again a non-mystery selection pops into my reading pile. I hope to use this blog to help mystery lovers like myself discover a great new book or two.

Thanks for the follow! I think the first series I became addicted to was Nancy Drew. Like you, I was given my set by my mother. I practically inhaled them! Then it was on to the Hardy Boys, and the Three Investigators☺️

I’ve found that Nancy Drew is a gateway to book addiction. 🙂 LOL

Erika, thanks for stopping by Puddletown and choosing to follow my blog. I loved Nancy Drew and I’ve recently found Maisie Dobbs and am enjoying reading some of those. I like your choice of theme; it’s the one I chose for my writing blog at http://sherreymeyer.com. Clean and crisp. Good for writers and readers! But I’m always wanting a change of scenery on my blog so who knows!

Hi, thank you for visiting and following my blog! I’m a total bookworm, but I’ve actually never read any adult mysteries before. I do own Stieg Larsson’s Millennium trilogy and a couple of Dan Brown’s Robert Langdon books, so I’ll eventually read them. We don’t have much in common with books, but I look forward to reading you future reviews! Maybe it’ll inspire me to read a few mysteries! 😉

I mostly read mysteries, but I do read other things too! 🙂 thanks for following me. I have been seeing a lot of great non-mysteries on blogs that I’m adding to my to-read list. Looking forward to new books from you as well. 🙂

My grandma influenced my reading and writing as well, but more fantasy than mystery. But who doesn’t love a good mystery! : )
You have a great blog!

Thank you! My grandma was a teacher and then a librarian and she loved all kinds of books. I do too, but the mysteries are the ones that just really call out to me. 🙂

Great blog! I read the one about the clock first and this one second. I always loved Nancy Drew and Trixie Belden, growing into an adult mystery fan. A big thrill of my life was having a story published in “Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine” some years back!
