Hello, hello to all my fellow bookworms!
First of all, I’m still here. I know, it’s been like five months at least since I last posted. I’m not really sure where the time went. COVID-19 happened. (I hope you all are healthy and safe.) And I sort of got lost in a COVID void. Did this happen to anyone else? Bueller? Could be just me. My boys have been home (and totally bored) along with my husband. I already work from home, so I thought I wouldn’t really experience much of a change, but honestly? It’s been weird having everyone here all the time with no where to go. Definitely interesting navigating this new dynamic.
Secondly, I have a confession. You know I love books. I love to read. But when March hit? I pretty much stopped reading. Which has been really weird. I just couldn’t pick a book up. And when I did, I couldn’t concentrate to read more than a page. Thank goodness for audio books. Audio books I can do. I listen to audio books while I’m working, while I sit and do a puzzle, while I’m doing chores. Physical books? Not so much. We went to visit family in July. Before that, since March, I think I actually sat down and read three books. THREE. (They were good books, which is why I could read them.)
So along with no reading came no blogging.
But we went and spent time with my family for a week in July. We recharged a bit. I brought three great books with me and made good progress on two and actually finished the third. My boys started back up at school today in a hybrid model – two days a week in person. Not sure how long in-person learning will last, but we’ll take this for now. They are very happy to be back in school with their friends. And I’ve started reading physical books again. It’s a start.
Anyway, I felt it was time to get back to my blog again. I’m easing back into things, so I’m not quite sure what I’ll be posting, or how often, but it feels good to be back.
Welcome back! I totally know what you mean. I didn’t think much would change, but having my daughter and husband around all the time felt really weird at first. I felt like I had to be productive around the house all the time.

I wasn’t expecting to feel different, but our house feels much smaller!

Yep. I didn’t know where to go when my daughter was doing Zoom class meetings.
