Welcome to the start of another week! My boys are on fall break this week, so they are home and keeping me busy. Now that it’s October I am in full on fall mode and loving pumpkin spice everything.
Neil Young is one of my favorite musicians, and I always enjoy hearing his 1992 hit Harvest Moon. (The whole album is fantastic.) Recently a cover of Harvest Moon popped up in my playlist when I was listening to Spotify. It takes the spirit of the original song, but adds in this cool calypso-type vibe. Which version do you like better?

You can also listen to the Spotify Session they did in July here. (Which I like better than this live one, obviously the audio is better.)

I should note that this particular version is NOT the original (it’s a little slower). You can listen to the original version here. What I love about this live version from the film Heart of Gold is you can see that the band uses a broom as an instrument. I think that’s so cool.
I’m a die-hard Neil Young fan so, for me, nothing beats the original, but the Lord Huron version comes in at a really, really close second. I love it.
Happy Monday!
Rules from Lauren:
Every Monday share one or two of songs you’ve been enjoying lately. It doesn’t have to be a specific genre, new, or one of your favorites – just something you’d like to share with others. If possible, share a music or lyric video of the song and your thoughts on the song(s), artist(s), and/or music video(s).
If you would like to participate in Music Monday, please join the link up by sharing your post’s url over at this week’s post on Always Me.
I’m a big fan of that song too, and I like the calypso vibe! The original is still my favorite but that’s an awesome version.

Isn’t it cool? The original is still my fave too. It’s tough to beat Neil Young. 🙂
