Music Monday. The Hamilton Polka.

MM_HiddenStaircase_small

I was visiting fellow bloggers this morning, and stumbled upon Music Monday over at Always Me. (Sidenote – how did I miss this?!) I *love* music, so I thought it would be fun to give this link-up a try!

Rules from Lauren:
Every Monday share one or two of songs you’ve been enjoying lately.  It doesn’t have to be a specific genre, new, or one of your favorites – just something you’d like to share with others.  If possible, share a music or lyric video of the song and your thoughts on the song(s), artist(s), and/or music video(s).

If you would like to participate in Music Monday, please join the link up by sharing your post’s url over at this week’s post on Always Me.

The Hamilton Polka. Tonight Show Style.

Some of you regular readers know that in addition to books, I love music. I even dedicated my Valentine themed TTT to music from the show Riverdale a few weeks ago. I’m also a huge Hamilton lover, both the fantastic music quotes and the fact that Hamilton has an answer for everything. I actually got to see Hamilton in Chicago last Wednesday when I was there for work. Seeing Hamilton after hearing the soundtrack a million times was AMAZING. I’ve been lost down the Hamilton rabbit hole (again) ever since.

Which is where this post comes in.

What am I listening to, Music Monday? (Actually, I am listening to a lot of different music.) But I’m featuring the fabulous Hamilton Polka by Weird Al. (That link will take you to multiple platforms to hear the full five-minute version.)

The polka itself is great, but I think the best way to listen to it is this slightly shortened version from Jimmy Fallon that features Lin-Manuel Miranda and Weird Al lip synching it together. Seriously. Give it a watch.

You’re Welcome.

Happy Monday, my friends.

    • I seriously don’t know how I missed this feature on your blog. D’oh! I’m super excited about Monday’s now!

If I get a time machine, my first stop is going to be Broadway to see the original cast perform Hamiton. I can’t even imagine!
