Curious Minds (Knight and Moon)

I’ve grown a little weary of picking up a novel by Janet Evanovich, after being worn out by her repetitive Stephanie Plum series. However, Phoef Sutton was a co-author for the third book in her Wicked Charms series, and I was pleasantly surprised. Mr. Sutton brought a fresh feel to a series that had begun to feel overly-Plummy after book two. Seeing Phoef Sutton as a co-author, I decided to give Curious Minds a try. I’m so glad I did.

Knight realizes that there is money missing in his bank account, and sets out to investigate. Moon (who works for the bank) is told to keep an eye on him. What begins as an exasperating partnership turns into a lot of fun.

Emerson Knight feels like a combination of Sherlock Holmes and Sheldon Cooper (of The Big Bang Theory). He is wealthy, eccentric, and self-centered. Paired up with Riley Moon (Knight’s amanuensis), the two make a fun duo. What starts as an investigation for missing assets turns into a murder plot, and the two quickly find themselves in hot water.

This read was a quick page turner, and I found myself laughing out loud. I am really looking forward to Knight and Moon’s next adventure.
