Top Ten Tuesday (TTT) brought to you by The Broke and the Bookish.
Ten Books On My Spring TBR
Spring is right around the corner (yay!) and this week’s TTT is taking a look at ten books on our Spring TBR lists. Shall we?
Upcoming Spring Releases:
Lost and Gone Forever by Alex Grecian (17 May 2016) – Last year’s The Harvest Man ended with quite a cliff hanger, and I’m ready to see what’s in store for Scotland Yard’s Murder Squad.
Murder in the Museum: A British Library Crime Classic by John Rowland (3 May 2016) – Poisoned Pen Press has been re-releasing these British Library Crime Classics, and I really enjoy reading them.
Double Knot by Gretchen Archer (12 April 2016) – I’ve read one Davis Way caper, and it was so much fun. Looking forward to this new outing.
The Semester of our Discontent by Cynthia Kuhn (5 April 2016) – This is the first in a new book series, and sounds like it’s right up my alley.
Books I Own
The Love that Split the World by Emily Henry – I love the cover; this was February’s Owl Crate selection. I was so excited to receive this book!
Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin – I’ve read such great reviews of this book. Picked it up a year or so ago at a used book sale.
Believing the Lie by Elizabeth George – Inspector Lynley used to be my go-to Scotland Yard mystery. I’ve gotten behind over the last five years, but I look forward to getting back into Lynley’s world.
Library Finds
Royal Wedding by Meg Cabot – I have never read a Princess Diaries novel, but from the reviews I’ve read it sounds like I will be able to jump into this one without a problem.
Trouble is a Friend of Mine by Stephanie Tromly – Again, I love the cover on this YA book.
Borrowed From My Brother…
…a few years ago and I’m sure he wants his book back at some point.
Doctor Sleep by Stephen King – I’m not gonna lie. I have had this on my shelf for a few years but haven’t started it yet because many moons ago The Shining (the book and the movie) kind of freaked me out. My brother loved it and assured me I have to read this one.
What books are on your Spring list? Have you read any yet from mine? Let me know, and link up to your own TTT list (if you’ve got one) in the comments below.
Doctor Sleep is a weird one. It’s freaky, but not Shining level scary. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it!

That is good to know! I read a lot before bed, and I just haven’t been sure about picking it up for bedtime reading. 🙂

I haven’t read any of these, but I like that you divided your books between ones you have and ones that you are new releases. I’m currently on a book buying ban, so mine is mostly books I already own– but when its over, I’ll be taking that idea!

My problem is the library. I walk in there to get one book and walk out with four (or more!) books. I have a few authors I love that I buy, and when I find a great bargain I buy it, but then I never make it to my bought books because the library reads have a due date. I think instead of a buying ban I need a library ban. Ha!

I haven’t read any of these, but I do eventually want to get to Doctor Sleep and the Storied Life of A J Fikry! Here’s my TTT

I actually have a lot of Stephen King books sitting around, waiting for me to get to them. Under the Dome, the new Mr. Mercedes series, Joyland…those are just off the top of my head.

Joyland was really different. I’m still trying to get around to Under the Dome and Mr. Mercedes too! 🙂

Royal Wedding was a treat for me. I grew up on Princess Diaries so it was nice nostalgia reading.
I got AJ Fikrey during a Nook book sale and am really excited to read it. Can’t wait to hear what you think!

I think I would’ve enjoyed The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry more if I hadn’t read Silas Marner. The plot of Fikry is lifted directly from Marner, so it felt unoriginal to me (a common problem with retellings, of course). However, the characters in Fikry are far and away more well-rounded and interesting then Marner

Great list! I enjoyed AJ Fikry and it’s a quick read. I’m so curious about Doctor Sleep! It looks amazing! I’m curious about A Royal Wedding. I read the first Princess Diaries not too long ago and enjoyed it though it felt really young (which makes sense) and have been wanting to reading this one but not wanting to read the in betweens. I hope you enjoy this and all the rest of your reads!

So many of these sound great. The older Stephen King books were classic; and I simply adored The Shining. I have not read Dr. Sleep; I also like Elizabeth George. Happy Reading.

I think Believing the Lie looks intriguing, love that cover with the misty dock! Will have to take a look at that one.

I’m one of the few people in the world that didn’t love AJ Fikry (maybe the only one)… sigh. I liked Dr. Sleep a lot, even though I do like older King better.

Every time I see Doctor Sleep in a bookstore I think of buying it, but then I get scared. Not of the story, but that it won’t live up to my expectations after reading/watching The Shining.

I loved The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry. I hope you enjoy it, too.

Doctor Sleep is great! It’s worth rereading The Shining before reading it (even though The Shining is one of the freakiest books ever). I loved A. J. Fikry so much! Enjoy your spring reading! 🙂
