OK guys. I have a confession. I’m behind on some book reviews. Way behind. I have a bunch of audio books I listened to in the car, and didn’t have time for a proper review, so I put them off for a few days. (And probably a few non-audio books too.) Which turned into a few weeks. And then months.
Now it’s almost the end of the year. My life is crazy right now. Between me and my boys, the month of December is just a whirl of basketball, choir, homework help, handbells, concerts, pageants. Last minute requests for school – “Mom, I forgot but can we go to the store? I need this. For tomorrow.” Oh, and getting my job done too. Forget housework. No time.
It’s already 16 December, and our tree is only half decorated. I’ve got piles of wrapping paper and supplies in the family room in our rush to get presents packaged and mailed. I’m not even done shopping for my family. It’s nuts. I’m stressing myself out just writing this.
So. Back to those book reviews. I’m going to try something from now to the end of the year. I’m going to write some super quick mini-reviews for these books instead. Maybe I’ll find some formal structure to them. Maybe each one will be unique. Who knows. But I want to get them done so I can start fresh in January. And in this month of insanity feel like I can check something off my list.
Maybe in 2016 I won’t put things off until the last minute.
Ha. I crack myself up.
I nearly fell into the same ‘trap’. “I’ll do it tomorrow.. or the day after that”. It so wasn’t the day after tomorrow….
I put aside like 15min each day and just wrote as much as I could (I got up earlier than usual for this), but I’m lucky to be a long distance student and my job is flexible too. I just have to meet deadlines. So I had no fixed timetable. And no children.
Anway, happens to all of us. Don’t get too stressed out with everything?

Thanks! The 15 minutes is a great idea. I’m trying not to get stressed. I’ll try to be like Elsa and just let it go…lol

Oh this time of year is NUTS. We just finished decorating – and by finish I mean put half of them back in the attic because we gave up. I love mini reviews anyways so excited to see them!

I told my husband last night we need to pick a deadline in the next few days and then say, ok that’s it. This is all the decorations coming out this year and put the rest away. I did my first mini last night to publish today. A little longer than I thought but I’ll get the hang of it! 🙂

I want to publish more reviews in 2016, but I don’t particularly enjoy writing reviews. I’m going the mini review route too. Give it some stars, dash off a sentence or two, and done. Maybe I’m doing micro mini reviews. 😉

Sounds good to me! My first mini was a little longer than I thought it would be, but I’ll get the hang of it. Probably depends on the book too.

Omg I am right there with you! It’s such a busy time of year. I just got my tree up myself. And trying to do all the blog stuff this time of year can be overwhelming. Mini reviews definitely can help ease the stress a bit. Good luck! 🙂

Thank you! I wrote one last night to publish this morning and it was a little longer than I anticipated. But super quick. Yay! One down. 🙂

Usually it’s too many books, too little time. Now it’s too much everything! 🙂
