Time for another pick-me-up, Christmas music style! If you’ve missed any of the others you can catch up here:
- Part One. It Snowed.
- Part Two. Christmas with The Beatles.
- Part Three. Colorado Christmas.
- Part Four. Winter Wonderland.
When I was growing up I loved to listen to John Denver & The Muppets: A Christmas Together. We had the record, and I would put it on and sit down in front of the speaker, looking at the album sleeve while I listened. This album is still a favorite in our house today.
A Christmas Together has many great songs, including some original compositions by John Denver. It’s hard for me to pick a favorite, but I think their arrangement of Silent Night wins out. I love how John gives the history of the carol.
Silent Night, Holy Night (1979) – Album Version
Silent Night, Holy Night (1979) Television Christmas Special
Basically the same as the album version, but the audio on this YouTube video isn’t quite as good. BUT on this one, you get to see the Muppets.
The audio is worth it to get to see them… 🙂
