What are you reading? (All the Light We Cannot See)

What are you reading Wednesdays? What Are You Reading Wednesdays is a weekly meme hosted by Its A Reading Thing. To participate, open the book you are currently reading to page 34 (or 34% in your ebook) and answer these three questions. If you have a blog, leave a link down in the comments so that others can visit and see your post. If not, just leave a note with your answers.

The Questions:

1. What’s the name of your current read?

All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. Normally I shy away from WWII books, but this book will meet “A Pulitzer Prize winning book” on my 2015 Reading Challenge.

AlltheLight

2. Go to page 34 in your book (or 34% in your eBook) and share a complete sentence. (or two!)

But he watches his sister’s face, motionless except for her eyelids, and in the kitchen Frau Elena holds her flour-whitened hands in the air and cocks her head, studying Werner, and two older boys rush in and stop, sensing some change in the air, and the little radio with its four terminals and trailing aerial sits motionless on the floor between them all like a miracle.

Interestingly enough, page 34 is the end of the chapter and this is the only sentence available to pick from.

3. Would you like to live in the world that exists within your book? Why or why not?

No. While the beautiful city of Paris is probably a lovely place to live, I don’t want to live anywhere in Europe during WWII.

  1. I love the cover. This book is actually on my TBR list to read before end of year. It’s been sitting all neglected on my shelf.
I hope you enjoy your book and thank you for participating 🙂
