…okay, it’s really 14 books. And I may or may not get to all of them this summer, depending on how many other unexpected books come my way. But a girl can dream.

Is this list too ambitious? (I say yes! Especially with random library finds and ARCs that I cannot seem to stop requesting.) We’ll have to check back in at summer’s end and see which of these books (and my beach reads) I actually got to, and what other books I picked up instead.

“Inferno” wasn’t my favorite Dan Brown book, but it had a really thought-provoking premise that has stuck with me. I’ve never read anything by Elizabeth George but she’s on my to-read list. One of these days!

It’s tough to beat The Da Vinci Code, isn’t it? 🙂 Elizabeth George’s Lynley series used to be my favorite. Whenever a new book came out I read it immediately. She killed off a major character a few books ago and it hasn’t been the same must-read for me since. Now I’m two (soon to be three) books behind! I keep buying them though, so that says something.

Great list! I’m way out of touch with the Linley series by Elizabeth George but always really enjoyed it. I loved The Amber Room by Steve Berry and read another one but never read anymore despite having tons of them on my list at the library. Can’t wait to get to them! Enjoy your reading!

Oh – even more I have to read! I want to pick up the Robert Galbraith books, and I still have to read Fairest to finish the Cinder series…I think I need about 3 extra months of summer…. 🙂

So many good ones on here! I really enjoyed the Silkworm and Attachments is my favorite Rainbow Rowell book. I heard the next book after The Silkworm is finished so I can’t wait until it comes out. I really need to get to Inferno at some point myself. Enjoy your books!

The Silkworm and Attachments were 2 of my favorite reads from last year! Attachments was completely nostalgic for me because my husband and I fell in love in 1999, which is the setting of the book. 🙂

Haha I like that quote and I totally agree! I haven’t read a Dan Brown book but I’ve been recommended it. Have you read other books from him? I want to read Spelled as well. I hope you like Scarlet! I think Cress (book 3) was the best one so far. Here’s my TTT if you’d like to check it out!

I’ve read most of Dan Brown’s books. I think The Da Vinci Code has been his best book. It’s full of twists and turns and puzzles. I really loved that book. I’ve seen some great reviews on Spelled! I am looking forward to finishing the Lunar Chronicles. I just need to find the time. 😉

It’s those ARCs that are the killers! A Study in Scarlet is on my list for summer too, but I have no idea whether I’ll be able to stick to my list… good luck with yours 🙂

Haha I love how you linked this weeks post back to the other topic! I wish I had the problem of finishing series. My issues generally start and end with actually getting around to starting the series (with the thought that there are often 2 more books afterwards).

Nice list! I’ve heard so many good things about Dorothy Must Die. I definitely need to read it eventually. Scarlet is good. Cress is really good too. I haven’t read much Dan Brown. I only read The DaVinci Code back in highschool when it came out.

Did you like The Cuckoo’s Calling? I’ve been hesitant to try those books because I didn’t really love The Casual Vacancy. I hope you enjoy all of your books this summer!

Really liked Cuckoo’s Calling. She is great at crime novels. Casual Vacancy is very different, that was a portrait of a small village.

The Silkworm!! Man, that one was fantastic, along with the first Cormoran Strike book. Oh, and Scarlet was a really great read too. Sounds like you’ve got some great reading ahead of you 🙂

I’ve read Believing the Lie and recall it was quite good. But I think I’m a tad more forgiving than some Elizabeth George fans are, so take my recommendation there with a big grain of salt.
I also read The Silkworm and loved it. It’s interesting to see Rowling playing in an entirely different kind of universe.
And if you want to read the Sherlock Holmes stories without reading them, a couple of years ago Derek Jacobi read audioversion of them. I’ve got several of them and that’s how I intend to revisit The Sign of Four this summer!

A Study in Scarlet was my introduction to Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson about 20 years ago. I still love it and I’Ve er-read it this year as part of my own 60 Books Challenge!
Dorothy Must Die is a great book as well, and I really need to get the Dan Brown books again (left one set in free libraries and book exchanges while travelling and – because I knew them by heart at that point – left another set behind when I moved country and really had to limit what I’d be taking with me. Still rebuilding my library two years later.
